A recent discovery in a collection of parts, a heart stopping moment for us was this find.
To those who know about this watch, it needs no introduction!
To imagine that such a rarity could be found amongst a parts collection is unbelievable. It is also crazy to think that this may have actually been used for parts as it is evident that some parts are absent.
After a fairly extensive search online I can find no evidence of this calibre being available as just a caseless movement.
The mind wanders to stories, was this watch damaged in some sort of combat or even crash that meant its case was scrapped?
Or, with the hacking part missing, did this simply break and was the case for this watch used with a fully functioning movement that had a good case? Who knows.
The movement is part of the second batch of watches produced on 16th December 1948.
This movement is for sale, please contact us for more information. Serious buyers only please.
