Winding Stems
You can find the DCN Winding Stem catalogue here – this is completely free to use on our website and is incredibly useful to check to make sure you have the right size stem.
It can also help greatly in identifying stems you may have by measurement.
It is wise, whenever not 100% sure on calibre, to check this document prior to making a purchase on a stem!
What Does “F” Length Mean?
The DCN Catalogue sometimes does not list the official calibre number of a stem, so in order to help identify the particular stem better I have included the “F” Length. You can measure the length of “F” of the existing broken stem, thus figuring out if the replacement is the right one.
“F” Length is shown on the DCN Stems document.
Do you have this stem in stock that is not listed?
If a DCN Stem is not listed on this website then unfortunately we do not have it in stock.
What condition are the winding stems in?
The stems are classed as New Old Stock (NOS) as they were originally manufactured in the 1950s and 1960s.
The stems are in NOS condition, some have slight discolouration due to being kept in a small amount of oil to aid in preservation.
Any stems showing obvious signs of rust have been removed from our stock and are not sold!
What is the best way of finding the stem I need?
