Edmonds London Verge Pocket Watch Movement 18th Century

Movement is not working, it has a secure chain, balance not rotating freely and is static and not rotating at all, pivots seem ok on the balance.

Very nice antique piece, from the second half of the 18th century. Original dial with damage present and one of the hands is present.

For restoration or parts.

Dalgleish Edinburgh Verge Pocket Watch Movement Converted to Lever

Lovely antique movement, unsure of age but I would estimate around 1760-1770. There is a J Dalgleish Edinburgh listed in Brittens for a longcase clock made in 1750.

The movement would have originally been a verge escapement but has been converted into a lever. This would have been expensive to do and probably took place 100 years after this was made when owners were informed of the benefits of the lever escapement over the verge escapement and paid for the conversion to keep their watches more "up to date"

It is not working currently, chain present and secure, but the balance is stiff and not rotating freely at all, the pivots seem ok there is no play in the balance so it requires work.

Original dial and beetle hand present, lovely ornate level of finishing with diamond endstone.

William Webster London Cylinder Pocket Watch Movement

High quality early Cylinder escapement movement by William Webster, Exchange Alley London.

Made circa 1760, his father was acquainted with Thomas Tompion.

Movement not working, it is nearly fully wound, balance is stiff but is not moving up or down so I think the pivots are ok.

Will require restoration, high quality antique piece for the collector.
