Watch is working, it will wind up and tick away but servicing recommended due to age and history unknown.

Smells of Tobacco, the case has wear to it and the lids don't quite marry up, please study pictures carefully.

Strang, Alloa Scotland Silver Fusee Pocket Watch

Silver hallmarked fusee pocket watch signed R Strang, Alloa. Alloa is a small town of Scotland with a current population of around 14,000. Would have been tiny around the time this was made.

Hallmarks place the piece to 1872. Interestingly case is hallmarked for London.

Watch has its chain, wound slightly to test it and it ticks a couple of times but will stop. Balance is good.

Selling as a restoration piece.

Watch is lacking hands and crystal, unrestored, balance swings freely on the movement but it is not ticking and fully wound.

Some wear to the case, back not quite marrying up correctly.

Case front is loose from the main case, it also has an issue marrying up correctly when it is attached.

Wear and some marks present, selling for repair or parts.

Case is missing its bezel, the movement is fully wound at present and is not working with a broken balance.

Some wear to the plating, particular brassing on the inside components.

Watch is not working and has damage. The case bezel seems to have been replaced at some point as colour does not match.

The crown and stem are missing. Movement has a good balance, ticks a bit when shaken. Movement doesn't quite fit the case so probably wasn't the original movement in it.
